Tennis for the Blind/Visually impaired on Mondays from 11:30 -13:00
We currently offer blind/visually impaired tennis on Mondays 11.30 am – 1.00 pm. It is a growing sport and can be played by everyone regardless of the amount of sight loss. Our group includes players living with all degrees of blindness and players are categorised from B1 to B4 according to this. Blind tennis balls have a rattle inside, allowing players to track the ball.
Our Monday session is currently free of charge and is followed by a cup of tea/coffee in the clubhouse. It’s a great way to get to know each other and make friends.
Our coaches and volunteers have undertaken special training to work with the visually impaired and can teach tennis to those who have never played before and those who have some experience. All equipment is supplied. Participants just need to wear trainers and comfortable clothing.
